About McCoys Pub Brokers

McCoys Pub Brokers Limited are public house valuers and brokers. I for my part as principal director of the company, draw upon some 48 years experience in the licence trade, acquiring a specialist knowledge of various aspects of the public house business.

Introduced to the “pub trade” in 1974, by my parents who were publicans with Friary Meux brewery company, running two pubs both in Surrey. I initially received in house training over a twelve month period serving an old style apprenticeship with a firm of valuers and brokers based in Guildford who acted for my parents. Over the years I progressed through the different parts of the company’s business gaining valuable experience.

In 1981, I joined a rival firm Richard Rowbotham & Co. also based in Guildford. In 1983, I was given the opportunity to manage the Company’s newly created Hampshire office. Over the years being promoted from employee to one of three partners, and a director when the firm became a Limited Company. In 2003 with the retirement of the last remaining director, and following a name change to McCoys Pub Brokers Limited a few years previous, I acquired the Company outright.

I am a member and Fellow of the Association of Valuers of Licensed Property.
